1910s Antique Silk Edwardian Evening Dress

A stunning antique evening dress, made from black silk with contrast blue trimmings.

The looser silhouette, and particularly the draped sections at the waist, is very reminiscent of the transitional styles between Edwardian dress and the 1920s look.

Made from extremely soft satin silk. The waistband and its decorative loops are lined with a bright blue Chinese jacquard style silk.

The sleeves and skirt are made from hand-finished blue and black lace with scallops and flower patterns.

The body is cut quite loose loose, with sheer sleeves and dropped arm holes.

The dress fastens entirely with hooks and eyes to the back.

Condition: There is some damage and some repairing to the lace. The biggest torn patch is at the front right of the skirt (please see the last photograph for details), and there are also some scattered smaller holes.
The silk that makes the body is in very good condition and still feels very strong.
