60s Hardy Amies Silk Dress. As Seen

A beautiful vintage silk dress, made by London couturier Hardy Amies – best known for as dress maker to the late Queen.

This piece is made from pale green silk chiffon, but has some unsual colour staining issues which have given the dress almost an uninentional tie-dye effect. I happen to quite like the colour effect, but the dress is sold ‘As Seen’, as it is definitely not in its original condition!

Made in England.

A shift style cut to the front and tight fitting skirt, with a voluminous gathered section to the back.

Fully lined with a darker blue synthetic fabric.

As well as the unusual colour patination, the skirt has also been fairly carelessly re-hemmed by the original owner. Otherwise everything looks good.
